Rabia Z Does It Again

My all time favorite islamic fashion designer Rabia Z did it again Queens. She managed to come up with the most banging Fall Collection for 2011. I would personally like to think she took my suggestions that I left on her fan page, about making more modern, urban pieces (Big Smile), but even if she didn't, I'm glad she did. These pieces can be worn by any modest fashionista, hijabi or not, muslim or non muslim. Take a look for yourselves.

The Thrifty Modest Fashionista Challenge

Ok, I have something to admit. I have come to the realization that if I want to reach other goals in my life, then I'm going to have to SERIOUSLY cut back on my clothes spendings. For the next 2 months I am going to challenge myself by shopping ONLY at thrift stores. I always hear of people finding the most wonderful things at thrift stores, but I have not found that to be true for myself. However for the sake of my other goals (mainly furnishing my house and taking continuing education classes), I will give thrifting another chance. I will post pics of my findings.I want to see just how many trendy, modest fashions I can find to look great on a dime. Most all the shoes listed on the site are UNDER $30. A total bargain for those of us on a serious budget. Stylish Blog Award

After a very difficult day yesterday, I woke up this morning to check my emails as usual, and I received notice from Zainab, that I won the Stylish Blog Award. This is such an honor, and I praise G-d for it. My blog is very important to me, as it is my wish to touch lives, and make people see the value in themselves(a lesson I had to learn the hard way, and am still learning). Spring Fashion in Bloom

The heat is on here in Florida, and it's time to get my warm weather fashion selections ready. I am determined to look gorgeous while staying COOL this spring and summer. I want to go for a very feminine look this spring. I'm thinking COLOR, lots of long, flowy skirts, ruffles, lace, strappy heels, sandals, and maxi dresses. My arms are big, so I've decided the whole long sleeved shirt, under a maxi dress, look is NOT for me. Instead, I will be sporting very light weight sweaters or blouses over the maxi dresses,or with skirts, thus staying cool, keeping covered, and hiding my trouble spots :) As for my hijab style I will be keeping it very classy and lady like, think "Hijab Revival" look (I LOOOVE her style).
