A Look at the BlackBerry Bold Touch
The BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 (also BlackBerry Dakota) is widely believed to be one of the best looking smart phones built by Blackberry. It is not only sleeker than even the BlackBerry 9860, but also considered to be more attractive and built better than most BlackBerry phones. Its weight comes to 130 grams and measures 115 x 66 x 10.5 mm. There is a full QWERTY keyboard beneath the display and is said to be one of the best keyboards yet. The phone boasts a spacious layout, with big keys that are considerably well responsive.
There is a 3.5 mm jack and a micro USB port on the left and a volume rocker and camera key on the right. The top only holds the power key. The back of the phone contains a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash as well as the battery cover. The phone’s battery is capable of up to 307 hours of stand-by and over 6 hours of talk time.
This version of the Blackberry has a 1.2 GHz single core CPU coupled with 768MB RAM. Like most modern versions of the BlackBerry Bold 4, the Blackberry Bold Touch uses OS 7, which is fast and responsive, and is made so by the Liquid Graphics Technology that the phone incorporates.
The music player is designed with a cover flow interface that is great for browsing the songs. It has good audio quality and contains all the standard options. This particular version has very good audio and video playback. The speedy CPU on this version of the phone greatly helps with playing DivX files, and has a 1280×720 resolution, offering a great display.
This phone has the ability to work in any country. Because of the OS 7 browser on the BlackBerry Bold Touch, web browsing is made very smooth and fast. This means that even complex pages are able to load in a very short time.
As in all BlackBerry phones, calling quality is good, and voices sound clear. Unfortunately, the Bold Touch 9900 is not capable of Wi-Fi calling although the signal strength is good.
All in all the BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 is definitely a great device, and one of the best BlackBerry varieties that gives you a great set of features and a great phone casing. The price of the phone is however quite steep, and there are cheaper version of the BlackBerry that can serve more or less the same purpose as the BlackBerry 9900.
